Company / Our Mission

Founded on the Belief That Power Is a Mission System.

Veteran-Led Leadership. Engineering-Driven Innovation. Mission-Focused Power Architectures designed to Support Defense, Federal Operations, Critical Infrastructure, and Operational Continuity.

Who We Are

A Different Perspective on Energy Resilience.

Beech Creek Power & Energy (BCPE) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business dedicated to Engineering Mission-Critical Power Architectures, Advanced Energy Storage Technologies, Integrated Microgrids, and Intelligent Power Systems for Defense, Federal, and Critical Infrastructure Applications.

Our Approach Combines Military Operational Experience, Defense Industry Leadership, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technology Development to Address One Fundamental Requirement: Mission-Critical Power Must Remain Available when Conventional Systems are Degraded, Interrupted, or Unavailable.

Leadership Perspective

Mission Experience Shapes Systems Thinking.

Michael S. Berger founded BCPE following a distinguished 24-Year Career in the United States Air Force and Air Force Reserve, including Combat Targeting, Operational Intelligence, Mission Planning, and Senior Leadership Responsibilities supporting complex military operations.

His subsequent Defense Industry Career has encompassed Federal Business Development, Strategic Capture, Program Management, C5ISR, Critical Infrastructure, Power Generation, Energy Resilience, and Mission-Critical Systems. This Experience provides BCPE with a Leadership Perspective grounded in Operational Requirements, Engineering Discipline, and Program Execution.

BCPE was Established around a Fundamental Operating Principle: Power Infrastructure must be Engineered as an Integrated Mission System. Generation, Energy Storage, Protected Distribution, Intelligent Controls, and Critical Loads must function together to Preserve Operational Continuity under Normal, Degraded, and Contingency Conditions.

Berger’s Technical Research and Publications examine Fuel Discipline, Energy Advantage, Mission-Energy Homeostasis and Allostasis, Advanced Energy Storage, and Resilient Power Architectures. BCPE’s Intellectual Property and Technology Development Portfolio includes Provisional Patent Filings addressing Survivability-Optimized Hybrid Power Architectures and Sodium Solid-State Energy Storage Technologies.

Under this Leadership Philosophy, BCPE Pursues a Disciplined Development Approach: Investigate Mission Requirements, Engineer the Architecture, Test Critical Assumptions, Independently Validate where Appropriate, and Integrate Technologies Based on Demonstrated Performance and Operational Suitability.

When the Mission Depends on Power, Performance Cannot Be an Assumption. It Must Be Engineered, Tested, and Validated.
What Guides Our Work

Engineering Discipline.
Operational Relevance.

01 / MISSION FIRST

Start With the Mission

Identify Mission-Critical Loads, Operational Priorities, System Constraints, Required Endurance, and the Consequences of Power Interruption before Selecting Equipment or Designing the Architecture.

02 / TECHNICAL INTEGRITY

Engineer. Test. Validate.

Apply Evidence-Based Engineering, Technical Readiness Assessment, Modeling, Testing, and Performance Validation. Clearly Distinguish Demonstrated Capabilities from Research Objectives and Development-Stage Technologies.

03 / LONG-TERM RESILIENCE

Engineer Beyond Installation

Address Operational Continuity, Secure Controls, Maintainability, Lifecycle Sustainment, Supply Chain Resilience, and System Recovery throughout the Engineering and Integration Process.

The Mission Comes First

Mission Assurance Begins With Engineering Discipline.

Engage BCPE to Evaluate Mission Requirements, Explore Resilient Power Architectures, Discuss Advanced Energy Technologies, and Identify Opportunities for Systems Engineering, Integration, and Technical Collaboration.
